How do we get yahoo to make one of our Moderators into an Owner?

I have a question that you may have answered for someone else before. SBC deleted our owner's email when he quit their service. He since created a new yahoo account, but now our group has no active owner. Can this be fixed? Yahoo help is not helping....

  1. Look at the membership list and see if he is still on it.  If there is a blue crown by his name, he is still the owner. Only the owner can make another member an owner.  If he created another account and is still a member, send him a personal email and tell him to use the Yahoo Help Form to get the problem taken care of.  Tell him that since SBC and ATT play nice together, that Yahoo Staff probably will understand what happened and help him get ownership back.  Here is the link to the help form that you are to send him:

If you or one of the other moderators do not assist him by doing something like this, your group will forever remain without an owner.

  2. unfortunately, if the owner is not part of the group anymore, he'd have to have his old yahoo ID account info like zip code/ secret word to verify he was that account owner. depending on why it was deleted and how long ago, knowing that information may not help at all.

Yahoo will not appoint a new owner- the acknowloedge the need to adopt a group however they have yet to come up with a plan.

I'd suggest backing up any info primary to your group and the members list, create a new group and invite those members to that. this is a much faster manner than waiting for yahoo

sorry and good luck to you

  3. he might still be able to get into the yahoo account. ask him for the password, otherwise you are at the mercy of yahoo.  start here http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...
