How do we know 2 +2 = 4?

How many fingers do you have on one hand?  Most likely there are five.  If you remove one, then you have two pairs of fingers remaining ; thus 2+2=4.

Well just by numbers you might not know. But if you take 2 apples and then you put another 2 apples down, that is a total of 4 apples. So i'm guessing that this is how we know.

Four is but a name tht we chose to assigned to that quantity.

In other cultures and other languages, Four is nothing but strange gibberish.

2 + 2 does not equal four. It's simply equal a quantity that is of the amount

And while we're on it, where did we derive 2 from?
