  1. OK, If you want to make electricity( in engineering called "generate" electricity), then you do the following :

    1- Buy the following :

    * An electric wire 1 metre lenght.

    * small bulb ( spherical lamp )

    * a wheel, ( like the driving wheel in the car)

    * a small laboratory generator : this you ask adults/buyer by the name, just tell him to give you a small "generator". It should be cheap, it is used in school labs, classes..etc.

    Now, the procedure :

    1- connect the electric wire between the terminal of the generator and the lamp. ( ask adults/teacher to help you in this step).

    2- Fix the wheel to the shaft (rod coming out) of the generator.

    Now as you rotate the wheel, you will notice that the lamp lights up, this is because you gave the generator energy by the motion of your hand. This energy was converted to "electricity" through the generator.

  2. For $50 you can buy lots of batteries. 2 - 9v batteries will get you 18 volts, and for less than $5.

    .

  3. You can buy 2 rechargable 9 volts size Ni-Cad batteries with the charger.

    It rates at 7.5 volts. Connect them in series.... Battery 1 [ - ]  connects to battery 2  [ + ].  From battery 1 [ + ]  to battery 2 [ - ] ,it products 15 volts DC power. But its current is quite small.

    Second choice:  buy 10 pieces of D size battery, each battery has 1.5 volt

    (it has 1.6 volt when it is new). Connect ten of them in series ....

    battery 1 tail ( - ) connect to battery 2 head ( + ).........battery 9 tail ( - ) to

    battery 10 ( + ) .  Then between battery 1 HEAD [ + ]  and battery 10 TAIL [ - ] , it has 15 to 16 volts  and it is good up to 3 amperes for one hour. You may roll them all with a piece of paper, pack them firm like a stick, make sure they touch well.

    Third choice: buy a 15 volts AC to DC power adaptor at 500 ma. or higher from electronic shop. Some computer scanner or printer use this kind of external adaptor. Some telephone uses 12 to 15 volts DC

    power adaptor.
