If you're talking about using electricity for a trip to Australia, then you'll need to buy an adapter and possibly a transformer, depending on the voltage your equipment can take.  Look at the plug or cord, it should say 110-220v or something similar.  Australia uses 220v and the US uses 110.  Things like laptops have transformers built-in to them, but smaller things like chargers and stereos might not.  Unless you're going to be there for a while, a transformer isn't worth it.  They run about $200 or more.  

    If you need the utility service itself, it depends where you live.  Just ask the service center in a local store.  Hope this helps.
