How do we solve the world hunger problem?

If we just feed the hungry, we create more hungry people. Is it possible to teach them to feed themselves? Do they even deserve to exist? If we wiped out all the hungry, would that permanently solve the problem?

I like how you think. The reason we have millions of people starving is for two reasons:

1) They live on a desert

2) They have more children than they can feed or care for

I think it is cruel to give them enough food to just exist and that enables them to continue with their hand out with the cup to fill everyday. This also enables them to p**p out a new starving baby every 10 months or so. It is never ending.

By reducing the demand for food stuffs (reducing population).

I guess they deserve to "exist" just as much as "we" deserve to exist so there will never be a kind or easy solution to world hunger.

Logically thinking yes, if they were allowed to die with out help , then it was an act of natural selection. If they found a way to feed themsleves then same thing natural selection. When others interfere and artifically support a natural cycle that is where you breed more starving people. If they are hungry they could relly find food if they were allowed to just fail or live.

UPDATE: There is not one child here in the united states of america that goes with out food on a daily basis. That is such a huge myth. Poor people in america live in an apartment with cable and a 60 inch flat screen give me a break.

Seriously though, it's a great question.

Sooner or later someone (probably Mother Nature) will be deciding one way or another, who "deserves" to exist (and therefore, who doesn't). That won't be a happy day for 99.9% of the world's human population. But hopefully that day will come before we destroy what's left of the other life forms on this planet.

We can say tomorrow, that we are going to produce fuel from potatoes, bagels, pasta, bologna and chicken wings. It will bring price of food even higher. Never mind, that we are still using gasoline for cars, but it makes nice bumper sticker. It will drive cost of the food higher. We will make more people starve to death. Dead people can't starve.

Let start drill for oil, bring cost of fuel, corn, chicken wings, bagels, pasta down and help hungry people.

first of all, the world needs to grow gardens, not shoot guns.

The technology we have for war could be better used to grow crops. And not corn for ethanol - that seems to be oxymoron. I run a small community garden - start at home and teach children how to do this for themselves...
