I know that during respiration Glucose+Oxygen = Energy+CO2+Water, but what form of energy is produced? And how does that energy drive the muscles?

  1. respiration forms Adonine Triose Phosphate (or ATP) as its main energy product (through various stages of the respiritory cycle: i.e. glycolysis, link reaction, krebs cycle etc). this ATP contains a high energy bond which can be eaisily broken to release energy which muscle mass etc can then utilise
