I want a weegie board, and I was just wanting to know how they work. Is it a good idea to get one. Are they just for fun, or do they really work? No stupid answers please. Thank you.

  1. What you are asking about is not spelled 'weegie' but ouija ... and they CAN work if a user is a sensitive, but they are most frequently toys used by children who THINK they are playing with the occult.  If you get one, get it as a 'toy' or game, and not as a 'sees all, knows all' source of important information.  You MAY be a sensitive, but I doubt you are ... there are 'tells' in the things a person asks, and your question has no 'tells' in it at all.  You are just a kid, and you may develop sensitivity over time, so I suggest that you KNOW what you are getting is 'just a toy' so you don't start thinking you are a sensitive ... you need to be 'open' to developing sensitivities, and I've seen ouija boards BLOCK the development of real sensitivites at least 10 times more often that they help 'develop' them.  Yes, I am a 'sensitive' but only in certain ways, at certain times ... but I have known my sensitivity since I was about three years old.  I'm a psychologist, and do far more good for people with that than with my 'sensitivity.'

  2. you ask a question and the spirits are sposed to answer it by moving the triangle thing.-

  3. dont do it and its spelled ouija board

  4. Ouija Board.  Bad idea.  They are a parlor game and you either get no results or deliberate efforts at control by participants or, if it really works, you're communicating with bad actors.

  5. It is ouija board not weegie.  Anyway, despite the fact people have gotten themselves scared stupid with the things, you cannot in fact get your house haunted or any other such thing by using one.  You can however be frightened really really badly.  It is all about the attitude you have going into it.  If you are scared something bad will happen, it will.  If you go into it light of heart and just investigating a new idea, then nothing bad will happen.  I don't think it is a good idea for most teenagers to use them, as you aren't really mature enough most of the time to handle it.  Really, I don't suggest any body use them, as you are just as likely as not to get hold of a 'prankster' that will scare the snot out of you.  But honestly and you have my word on this... if you use one no ghost from beyond is going to pop out and kill you or cause you any actual harm other than make you pee your pants and be paranoid.  If you want to use one, just be very light about it and it will be interesting.

  6. Ouija boards are purportedly channels for supernatural influence to respond to questions. If you believe this, they would have to be considered dangerous, in the same category as other similar supernatural events or entities. I believe they are not truly doing this, and consider them as a (possibly) fun game only.

  7. dont do it please i no some1 who did it and ow es mentally challenged please dont do it its dangerous

  8. it's just for fun...in my opinion. Some people think they're real. But i don't. How could they manufacture something made of cardboard and plastic that connects with paranormal beings? They can't. And anyways, if it did work, I don't think they would even sell it in the first place. They would have it in a lab somewhere doing experiments and it would be all over the news that you could buy something that creepily connects to i-dont-know-what. So i guess it is fun if you arent as much of an unbeliever as i am. i just want to mention that i do believe in the paranorma(eg. ghosts) just not that the game that claims to reach them.

Sorry if you consider this a stupid answer!!

  9. Here is a web site on how to play Ouija. They are not evil or ghostly, just strictly for fun and maybe for spooking your friends, if they are gullible.

  10. Double A batteries.

You start opening that door, and it's not one that you can just close. Your inviting a whole other world of trouble once you start messing with those things.

They supposedly work by asking a ghost a question, and your hold a triangle disk that moves around the board and responds with an answer. It's supposed to be a game. Usually the people playing are cooperating to scare someone in particular in the group of people playing. A practical joke.

I'm not one to believe in ghosts, but I do think there is legitimate evil in the world, and when you invite it in, you can't just turn it off. It's not a good idea to be messing with those things.

Probabaly nothing would happen if you used it. So it's not even worth chancing it. You don't need it.

  11. story of when i played with a ouija board:

i played in a dark and messy garage. opened up a door for spirits to enter.

I reached into my pack of cigs to grab my lighter, and it was gone. They i asked "hey who grabbed my lighter", and then the lighter dropped from the ceiling into my lap.

my friend pulled the cord of the light in the garage out of the socket, so that we'd have complete darkness, and to minutes later, that light flicked on and off (which would normally be impossible, because the cord wasn't plugged in)

I asked the ouija board "please prove to me that you are right next to me"

then, a bolt flew across the room, and shattered the glass plate sitting right next to me.

other things happened that night as well.

    the BIGGEST mistake we made:

not closing the portal, that we originally opened for the demons, and spirits.

my friend moved away a week and a half later, because her house was haunted.

  12. I have never used one, but a relative of mine did. After that, she never wanted to see one again; she got so freaked out.

I don't believe they are real.

You probably should not get one if the people you would invite to play the game with are easily scared. If they believe it will work, then it will "work" for them. Not a good idea if this might happen since you'll probably get complaints from them after.

If no one is like that, then go ahead. Just for fun. Just to cure the curiosity.

  13. As previous responders have taken you to task about the proper spelling of "Ouija," I will not do so here.

There is a popular belief that an Ouija board has some inherent power, or that spirits live inside the board or planchette. This is not correct. The Ouija board is simply a board with letters, numbers, a few words, and copyright and/or patent information, and the planchette is a small inert device that has been designed to move easily across the board. There is nothing magic or mysterious about the board or planchette themselves, and the mere presence of such devices will not cause paranormal events to occur.

The board's power comes from the calling forth of spirits. The participant(s) get(s) the attention of these spirits and ask(s) them questions, whereupon the spirits respond by moving the planchette around on the board. Many people believe a person can call forth the spirit of someone who has passed on, or some other specific entity, but this has never been proven, to my knowledge. The spirit(s) who are summoned will often not have any singular identity at all.

Those spirits who do have identities will usually be vague, evasive or misleading about their names. This is because knowing their names can give the experienced summoner power over the spirits themselves, and the spirits can then be forced to do things they don't want to do. This is very undesirable to the spirits, of course, who want to keep their liberty and freedom intact.

The spirits who are summoned in this way are never good ones. Good spirits will not respond to this type of summoning. Sometimes the spirits who are summoned are neutral or mischievous, and will often simply give random answers to participants' questions.

Other spirits may be more powerful than these, and may actually have limited knowledge they may impart. However, these spirits are nearly always malevolent, and when summoned they may decide to take residence in the room or household where they are summoned. Sometimes they will even take residence in the participants themselves! Once they have taken residence, they can manifest themselves in our world of reality in real and very frightening, and in some cases very destructive, ways.

Depending on the power of these malevolent beings, one may be able to drive them out in a variety of ways. These spirits are very legalistic, however, and some of them may have the power to take up permanent residence in the room, household or person they have elected to haunt.

These spirits can only be gotten rid of by identifying the source of their right to be wherever they are, renouncing this right, and flooding the host with good spirits. They can then be forced to flee. Very powerful evil spirits may be difficult to exorcise even in this manner, but it is the only manner that has been proven to be successful.

If you do call forth spirits to manipulate objects in the real world and divulge information, you are asking for trouble. My advice is, DON'T! No information received in this way is worth the potential risk of possession by evil spirits. Many lives have been completely destroyed in this way. Please, don't let this happen to you. If you are tempted to use divination devices to call forth spirits, get rid of them. Your life will be much better for it. - LJS
