  1. Sarah Palin is awesome, a real conservative woman...God bless her!

  2. He picked her to win some of the women's vote, but also because she represents change and she's not a Washington insider. She's fought against corruption and won.

  3. As a woman I feel she is one of the misguided uber-conservatives that feel the government can make better choices for our bodies that we can.

As a non-Christian who  feels the Government cannot promote any particular religion I find that she thinks creationism should be taught in school extremely offensive.

As someone who cares about the environment I find her wanting to drill in  a wildlife refuge disgusting.

As someone who has g*y friends I find that she does not want enyone, regardless of  sexual orientation, to be able to have the same benefits very uncaring.

She certainly is not going to draw the women's vote. And not too many others beside the Limbaugh crowd with her stances.

  4. I don't vote based on gender or race, I have a big family that would be effected by higher taxes and that is a given with Obama. I have two sons in the military and I am more comfortable with Mc Cain as Commander in Chief . I need a president to keep taxes low and defend this country and her interests abroad. EVERYTHING else I have handled for the past 25 years. Americans do better with less government , our history proves that, heck when they go on vacation we do better.

  5. Sara Palin will win over the redneck, christian, white women

but she will lose over the liberal, ugly women

  6. "Call me the first women" abover has it right. She has governer experience and is a very strong women. Although I have never heard of her, I have been looking up info on her and am quite impressed. She is strong, and has good family values. She proves that a women can have it all, a career and a family! A women the young girls in our country can look up to. For me Mr. McCain got it very right!

  7. she is no HRC

  8. In a way, it was a strategic move. Tim Pawlenty was seen as another strong possibility as a running-mate. He has very similiar values and beliefs as Palin. Regardless, I would be and am voting for McCain. So, I guess we will see if his choice will sway the undecided women voters.

  9. They may have been a part of it.

But Palin is exactly what America needs!!

    And has PROOF!

  10. Only McCain knows why he picked Palin. I don't know if it will sway any women's vote.  It might for those who just have to have a female on  the ticket.  I would consider  voting  for her whereas I would not vote for Hillary.

  11. I think he picked her because she's everything he's not : i.e., the new fresh face of American conservatism.  She's young, energetic, female.  Yet the two have some things in common : they're both mavericks, of a sort; they're both from Western states.

Palin may be a woman but she supports and reinforces traditionally male principles -- strong military, right to bear arms, etc.  That's why men like her.  She's a mother, so she fulfills the traditional female 'role' in society ... she's also in a powerful position, governing a predominantly male, 'red' state.  That's why women like her.

All this, and she looks great, too ... very photogenic.  What more could a 21st century conservative want?  She's got it goin' on.

The problem is, I'm not a conservative.  Not that I would get a perfect score from Planned Parenthood or anything, but ... I'm essentially pro-choice.  So, I need to do some soul-searching between now and November.

  12. I saw her speech yesterday (not by choice). She seems like a nice enough gal but...Well, that's all I have to say.

  13. No, I think that he picked her, because she is qualified.  She is after all a governor and does have experience in running a state, which is more than what any senator or representative can claim.

  14. Very nice list but you left out:

    1) Abraham Lincoln was a Republican who freed the slaves.

    2) It was a Republican legislature who gave blacks the 1964 Civil Rights Act of 1964 (and not Johnson).

So I really don't know why blacks continue to vote Democrat as its always the Republicans who put their money where their mouth is and not the Democrats.

  15. It's an insult. McCain thinks women are that gullible that they would vote for any one with a uterus.

  16. Yes I think so.

  17. I do think that.  He had much stronger people lined up, but he chose her?  There must have been a reason.

  18. I love it!

I think being a woman certainly helped her, but she does qualify and she ends the argument about Republicans.

  19. I'm sorry to disappoint, but I vote for the person, not the s*x of the person. If they're no good, they don't get my vote.

I'm not saying any more,(but if she were a man, nobody would have a problem with the selection.)

As it is, we only have a 50/50 chance of getting it right, but it's better then no chance at all, like some places.

    God bless America! <><

  20. That was just part of it...He picked a con...Even better after the Dems shot the clintons in the head...ooooowww..I like that one...

  21. I LOVE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama is a flag hating terrorist!

  22. Palin is an anti-choice, homophobic bigot, and a creationist.  Most American women will never vote for her.

  23. Well he certainly doesn't take for granted the vote of women.  Unlike another large political party.

She is a solid pick.  The social conservatives and the blue collar vote, both male and female, were McCain's real target.

  24. I'm a woman, but that has no bearing on my impression of her.  Is she the best choice of all time?  I don't know about that, but I do know that the more I hear from her the more I like her.  They have my vote.

  25. Semper I love you Brother, but I'm tired of this.  Men seem to think we will vote for a woman simply because we are the same gender.  Please give us more credit than that.  Ok, to be fair, I'm sure there are a FEW women who will do that, just like there are a few blacks who are voting for Obama only because of his skin color.  I like to believe the majority of people are smarter than that.

Governor Palin is an incredible woman.  She has accomplished so much.  She is the epitome of what an American woman (and man) can be...whatever we want to be as long as we do it with dignity, integrity, good old fashioned hard work and good will.  She has a love for family, a love for her home state and a love for the USA.  She not only wants to lead but serve, she has a servant's heart.  Isn't that the Christian way?

I think McCain picked her because she's a reformer and that's what we need.  Being a woman is just an added bonus.  Why did Obama pick an older, white man who is the epitome of a Washington insider if he is all about change?  It's politics.  Whatever the reason, she's a good choice.

  26. Palin is an excellent choice for VP, and she loves America, just like McCain. Call was not ranting, just stating facts. If you didn't like her answer, then why did you post this question? Is it because she is a Republican?

  27. He wanted or needed her to play against Hilary and a black man

  28. My wife and 4 daughters are all registered voters, but rarely vote. I haven't seen this much excitement from them about the political process in a long time. Palin represents strong women across this nation and this selection is going to bring them to the polls in droves.

  29. Choosing Palin is an isult to the intelligence of all Hillary supporters, but especially women.  If he honestly thinks that women are so stupid that we wouldn't recognize his ham-handed ploy, and would flock to someone so diametrically opposed to the positions of Hillary Clinton that we supported, that we' go running to vote for the first person who happened to fit the description of tab a fits in slot b, without a thought for the issues he needs a serious wake up call.

The only actually strategic thing about his choice was appealing to the harder right line, thus winning back some of the more extreme conservatives.

  30. I think McCain picked a strong, reputable and experienced woman, who did not abort her child with downs syndrome, as Mr. Obama supports (full birth abortion).  If she thinks her son going off to Iraq is a good thing under McCains guidance, then McCain was and is our man  GO MCCAIN!!!
