I'm 15

I really want to change my last name! My brother and I go to the same high school, and he's finally pissed me past the point of forgiveness.

Don't tell me that its no reason to do such a thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to him, I get bullied and mistreated at school, because he tells people lies about me.

You can't possibly imagine the h**l I go through because of him.

Since I'm in school, I can't just say its something different, because they call your last name all the time.

If it makes a difference, I'm just going to change it to my mothers maiden name.

  1. You will need to go to your local court house for more information

  2. Two pieces of information that you'll need to do this.

    1) in order to do this, you should start by going to the local courthouse.  That is where this process will take place.

    2) you will need parent or guardian permission to do this as well.  You can't do this on your own until you are 18

you'll also need several important documents, including your birth certificate, social security card, and other forms of identification.

don't expect this to be an overnight process, it will take days to weeks to perform this task.

sorry, can't answer the cost issue.

  3. Well... a lot I'm guessing

I want my last name to be Montigarmo (moms maiden name)

    uhh!

  4. You can find the fee for a name change using the link below. This web page is broken down into the various areas of Virginia, so just find the appropriate city, or county, and click on it. That will bring you to a schedule of fees for that particular jurisdiction - including the fee for a name change.
