How do you Duck Dive when surfing eh?

Mate trying to learn and duck driving is holding me back.

yea what amy said, and after when the wave is directly over you, you should push harder with your leg so that you "pry" against your arms and pull the tail deep as the wave's current pulls you in that direction.

the whole idea of the duck dive is not how deep you go.  nobody can duckdive deeper than a few feet without the help of a wave.  what makes duckdiving work is riding the back currents of the wave.  the whole trick is to get into those currents so that they suck you back, but get out of them before that same water comes back over the falls.

that's why it takes such a long time to learn though!  good luck.  you'll figure it out.

really put you back into in.. wat size board you got. your not gona be doin it on a longboard

As the wave approaches, push down on the board near the nose and push it under the water, at the same time, pull one of your knees up to about your waist line and put your foot on near the tail end of the board and push down.  You want to keep the front of the board lower so that the nose is pointing downward until the wave passes over you and then you can pop back up.
