How do you Eat with the Herbst Appliance?

Question

I'm getting it in 4 days and I was wondering if your front teeth only touch, than how do you chew. I can't chew with my front teeth and my back teeth won't be touching with the appliance on? Will I just have to chew with my front teeth. Also, I know I will have to get used to the appliance but that doesn't have anything to do with how to eat if my teeth don't touch. THANK YOU!!
