  1. Horns on toyota sienna are really unreliable,  you better open the horn casing in the steering wheel, you will find an asterisk s***w head on left and right side of the wheel. You will find  the contact to be rusted due to which the metal brackets are unable to receive negative charge.(u need a negative charge to activate the horn) you can sand the contact a bit and routa neg wire to the brackets. It would definitely work then.

  2. Great advice! from the person who wrote about not changing spiral cable. A gush of corrosion came out of the steering column connection where the wire gets grounded on to.  We did this before we started changing any part.  Half of Toyota mechanics don't even know this or want to sell you expensive parts. Don't do it! Just get a can of spray to wash out the build up corrosion and that will do the job!  The only thing is you have to dig deep in and take disable the airbag and remove the steering to get to it.   Don't change $300.00 spiral cable as Toyota wants to sell you that!

  3. I just got my 2000Sienna (127Kmiles) back from dealer today, $650 repair. He replaced the spiral cable. And oppss! It still had the problem. So the mechanic dug deeper into the steering column. He found rust in the bearings mounting the stering shaft to the chassis. So he suspected the rust interfered with the ground connection of steering shaft to frame. Once the bearings were cleaned the horn worked 100%, while in park, while driving, and in all wheel positions. So it occured to me that Ididn't really need to have him disassemble/clean/repackall those bearings. I could have rigged a jumper wire (with enough slack to permit the sterring shaft to turn two full revolutions) toground the shaft. But cleaning rust out of those bearings will avoid a future problem too.

  6. where is the ac relay in the 2003 suzuki aerio sx

  7. First check the fuses,  bypass the relay to activate the horn,  then check contact plate and the spiral cable.  The spiral cable is the last common link.   IMHO
