How do you Import videos from a Samsung SC-D353 Camcorder?

I have Ulead VideoStudio 11 and i use a normal 2.0 USB cable

  1. The Samsung SC-D353 is a miniDV tape based camcorder.

    All miniDV tape based camcorders use Firewire to transport imported video from the camcorder's DV port to the computer's firewire port. If you computer does not have a firewire port, hopefully it has an expansion slot so you can add one.

    Firewire400, IEEE1394a, DV and i.LINK are all the same thing.

    USB will not work. A USB to firewire adapter/converter will not work. It sounds like you have already discovered this.

    In the User Manual (not the "easy manual") refer to page 79.

    Note that page 81 has information regarding the USB connection - it refers to transferring (still) images from the memory card only. There is a note that says: "USB 2.0 works only for removeable disc functions".
