How do you Kill Maggots?!?

I went outside to my trash this morning and it was completely COVERED with maggots, inside and out. I was wondering how to kill these suckers and keep them from EVER coming back?! Its disgusting!!

Wash your garbage can with bleach, and get a good lid to keep the flies from going in to lay their eggs. Or get a second garbage can, if you have too much garbage for the first one.

Spray them and the bin with surface spray insect killer

I had this problem with a compost bin.  Because I didn't want to spoil the compost with chemicals, I used boiling water.   Cheap, easy, sanitary and satisfying!   It seemed to be a pretty good solution!  I don't know how to keep them from coming back, because after I doused them I never saw another.  Hope this helps!

EWWW... Well get a powerful hose and hose off the inside/outside of the trash bins... As good as possible.. .Get some rubber gloves and a scrub brush and scrub the INSIDE/OUTSIDE of the bins with soapy water with bleach.... Let them air dry.... In the future keep them covered and in an enclosed area like a garage... Wash them every once in awhile... good luck
