Question:

How do you accommodate fancy mice to your home? ?

I just bought my female fancy mouse today, and she is very scared. I know this is normal, but is there any way to make the transition easier for her?

She was just shipped this morning to the pet store and brought into my home around 4:30pm. I feel so bad for the poor thing. Quite a stressful day!

Anyway, how can I make my poor little mouse more comfortable? And is there any other advice you have to offer?

Thank you :)

  1. Just talk gently and softly and try reading a book to you mouse so it can get used to the sound of your voice and sit really close to the tank so it can see you and get used to your look and dont handle it until tommorow, keep the lights on until the sun sets so it has its days and nights in order. good luck!

P.S. dont try to pick it up tommorow just put your hand in the tank and let it sniff and smell you.

    G'luck

  2. when i first got mine they were also very scared.

they hid most of the time. but acouple of days they got use

to it. Everytime i cleaned their cage i would hold them and talk to them.

thats what mainly got them use to everything and calm down. but like someone said i would talk to her softly =D

  3. Get her a friend - she's probably petrified being by herself in a new place. Is there any reason why you cannot get a second (female) mouse?

Make sure that she has plenty of places to hide - things like cardboard tubes. Put her food close to the hiding places in case she is scared to venture out.
