  1. crayons and food

  2. I would zone all of the areas off so you have a physical area, messy area, role play area, construction area, quiet area.  This makes sure that children know where things should be and they all have order to the room, routines and boundaries help children to feel safe and then in turn can be stimulated in their areas

  3. You need a bright, language rich environment, have areas for different types of play, language, construction, wet area etc. Equipment should be in storage to allow children to gain independence Wall displays must be low to enable the children to access and see them. Personal care area must be accessible to encourage independence.

The outside area should also be zoned to allow wheeled toys to be used without interfering with children not using them.

A quiet area with seats, scented garden for children with sensory special needs.

  4. In our homeschool learning environment, we have interesting things easily accessible to the children.

We encourage them by providing stimulating materials and a willingness to work with them.

  5. I teach pre-school kids and the one thing that keeps a stimulating environement is FUN!!!

It doesn't matter what you are doing, as long as you present it in a fun way the kids will have a ball. If you relate to them from the little kid inside of you, not only will they enjoy it, but so will you.

If they are writing, do it with drawing, if they are speaking do it with actions, roleplays, group posters, painting, colouring, speaking, story time with them acting the parts,  etc.

If they are not aware they are learning and are having fun, then your task is achieved.

Relax, take it easy and enjoy. Look on google for some games ideas for kids. Crayola.com is really good for downloads too!

    Good luck
