  1. Usually no more than a 10% acid/ water ratio. Stubborn staining may require a stronger mix. Remember to use a clean container ( I always liked to use a plastic watering can, since it spread the mix and used it sparingly) and most importantly, always add the acid to water, not water to acid. When pouring or using any of your mix containers, keep everything within the confines of the pool and always have your garden hose handy to hose down any spillage. You need to be especially careful about any droplets on a concrete deck. It'll stain yellow and will NOT come out. Tile grout should be hosed down well, if your mix has come in contact with it. An slight residual of mix will cause a secondary stain on the pool finish if the grout is coloured.

Use as little acid as possible. It's eating away at your pool finish. Use an acid brush and elbow grease to move the mix around and scrub. Protective clothing, hand and eye protection is a must. Stay out of any areas where you see a fog. That's corrosive gas. It'll rip your lungs out unless you're wearing a Scot Air Pak.
