How do you act out the Character of the Witch in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe?

I am trying out for the part of the White Witch and want to know any pointers for her character. How does she speak is she soft yet mean or is she obviously mean?

when shes being nice ...shes calm ,generous and seems kind ,but you know their is an ulterior motive [sinister way about her -shifty glances when others not looking]-- kind tone of voice ,gentle hand gestures and touching movements

when shes being mean she is a downright b**ch ....shes cold ruthless and just nasty to anyone who gets in her way ....icy by heart icy by nature really --vicious mean tone of voice and strong sudden gestures and movements
