do you like to yell and scream??

Are you more quiet than loud......unless someone get's hit good??

Do you critique the boxers during the fights???

Do you score the fight when you watch???

Just wondering what you guys and girls like to do when you watch boxing matches..........I personally go over my brothers and he scores the bouts in his head and says what he thinks of the fights.........i'm pretty much the same way except that i don't keep score.........just go on feel when trying to figure out who i think is doing better in the bout. My bro only brings in PPV when i request them(bank on the Margo/Cotto match being ordered), otherwise we just wait until they reshow it on the next telecast on HBO..............

What do you and whoever you watch fights with do????

  1. When it is a good fight I yell and scream.

  2. If I am watching a big fight on HBO or PPV, I tend to analyze.  Something like "Oh, I can see Pavlik setting up the right hand... Here is comes... Boom!"  Yes, I do say "Boom!"  Or if I fighter lands a big punch, I will give an "Ooooohhhh... Vicious Left Hook!"

If I am watching a friend of mine on TV,  I will yell instructions and encouragement, just like I was there.  I had a friend fighting on ESPN a few weeks ago and I kept yelling "C'mon!  Slip the jab dammit and start firing them body shots!!!"

I just enjoy watching fights so much!  And I get excited like a little kid when big fights are signed.

  3. Cool question. I'm actually pretty quiet during the fights, until a thunderous blow is landed by either man. I do critique both fighters as well, so that i can use what I've seen to determine whether the fighter(s) has what it takes to overcome their next challenge. And yes, I also keep score of the fight in my head.

  4. it all depends how much i care about the outcome,if one of my favorite fighters is in a war i really get into it., but if its a ho hum fight i just watch quietly. i sometimes judge a fight if it is a big fight and is expected to be close but usaully not,but i might judge a fight on a re-airing if it is real controversial like mosely-delahoyas 2nd fight or hagler-leonard type fight. i usaully watch fights alone unfortunately, i dont have many fight fan friends who live close, but have few who are big fans and when i do see them ,we talk about the fights weve seen lately.

  5. I,m very quiet because I,m in school while watching the fights studding the styles and watching the moves and how well each fighter takes the punches. I love boxing no other sport like it

  6. i always yell and scream and say what i think the boxers should have done or could do differently. it's almost as if i'm talking to them. i also say who i hink should win every round. i like to really get into the fights

  7. Fight Night for me is like a movie night for other People... Lights go off and i have to watch on my big screen and everyone needs to be the freak quiet, except me.... really depends on the fight as well....if i have a vernon forrest fight or a boring match i usually just watch silently and complain later but if there is a couple of good names fighting like Marquez v. Vasquez that bring alot of action , I get pretty loud and excited .... And there has to be alot of shti talking durning the matches as well

  8. We are usually drinking so we get pretty loud and yell and cheer, but it depends on the fighters, If i really like them I get more excited during their fights. Even in the boring Oscar VS Floyd fight I was still excited as h**l and screaming and yelling back n forth every time It looked like Oscar had him in trouble. When you watch it again you can see that Oscar really didn't land as many punches as I thought he did on fight night. But the excitement corrupts I guess.

If its two fighters I'm watching and I don't really care about the outcome as much I study the fight more, I also like keep a running score card.

Cotto vs Margarito I will probably be yelling and jumping up and talking **** with my buddies. I cant wait for that one.

I remember when Forrest hurt Mosley in the first round I jumped out of my seat and spilled my bear and nearly flipped the table because i was so shocked. What a waste Vernon Forrest was, come up and spoil Mosley then get your worhtless *** knocked out by Mayorga. God I still hate Forrest!

I also tape everyfight because I like to study it without the excitement the next day and analyze it so I can better discuss it. Because I find and I dont know if it is the same with everyone else, when your excited about a fight with allot of action and you want one fighter to win you become a little biased until you can sit down and watch the fight again. Maybe that's just me though.

    Definatly an origional question, salute.

  9. I score the fights, pull for my favorite fighters and generally get into it and tend to order most of the major fights on PPV.

  10. Nice question, this should be a fun one to answer.

Since most good fights require a PPV order or HBO or Showtime, My friends and I always gather to watch the fight.  It kind of sucks that you cant just turn on ABC and see a great fight like in the old days, but its kind of cool because you get to make an event out of it.

During the undercards, people are always talking about the main event and wagers are usually placed.  Boxing is an dd sport to bet on since there are many different ways you can bet.  We dont bet much money, just a few bucks to make it more interesting and provinding for some good **** talking during the fight.

Once the main event starts, we all grab our beverages and take the best available seat in the basement.  Everyone is pretty focused on the fight and comments and critiques can be heard from pretty much everyone throughout the fight.  I always keep score in my head.  At the end of each round, some people like to say who they think won that round.  I always keep score in my head.  And during the begining of the next round, I make an announcement of who I have winning, but I say it like the ringside guy, I use his voice and say it really fast (i.e. Hatton is just being completly outclassed..Too much speed from Mayweather.. 6 rounds to 2, Mayweather)  That usually gets a few laughs.  After a few rounds, everyone is pretty tipsy and most people start looking for the kill, cheering on any chance of a KO.  At the end of the fight, we give our predictions.  After the cards are ahown, we all comment on how that one ref must have been watching a different fight and how can all the scores be so different.  Anyways, we always have fun and then we have the DD take us home and we discuss potential matchups for the winner.
