How do you actually get up and get going?

So tomorrow morning, I have to wake up at 9.00 AM, and lately I've been waking up at 12.00PM or 12.30PM and going to be pretty late. And when I do set the alarm, I just turn it off, and fall back asleep.

Are there any tips you use to actually GET yourself up and to stay up?

I've tried putting the alarm clock across the room, so I'd HAVE to get up, but I'd just walk back to bed, knowing what I was doing.

So, overall, Are there any tips you use to actually GET yourself up and to stay up and not put on the snooze, even if you're really tired?

-I'm asking this in Adolecents because I know teens hang out here, and I know that teens probably have the same type of trouble of getting up, because well, most teens do!

  1. I'm a really heavy sleeper so alarms don't wake me up, but if my mom or someone wakes me up I'll get up.  She'll just sit next to me and bug me until I get up.  A few weeks ago she read "the diary of anne frank" to me when I was trying to sleep until I got so annoyed I got up and stormed to the bathroom to start my day.  She's goofy.  Have a parent wake you up. =]

  2. try getting up to use the bathroom and turn some hype music up and start dancing and have a good time! trust me works everytime ;)

  3. This is a tough question as I'm 26 and still haven't gotten it all figured out.  When I was 12, I slept through a hotel fire alarm with no recollection of anyone trying to wake me.  What you need to start doing is just adjusting your schedule little by little.  I've heard it's best to adjust it a half hour at a time until it's right.

Since you are talking about tomorrow, have your best friend (or someone) call you and sing to you until you get out of bed and they can hear you brushing your teeth or something.  And start going to bed 15-30 minutes earlier every night.  You won't feel tired so try reading a textbook of some sort.  EVENTUALLY, it will work. Really.

Ever notice that you always wake up super alert when you are going to the airport or on a road trip?  To help myself remember this kind of urgency in the morning (because I'm usually too drowsy to know why I'm not allowed to snooze) I literally talk to myself before I sleep.

I say,"Get up! You have to work!" 5 times and for some embarrassing, idiotic reason, I remember telling myself this in the morning and do it.

I hope this helps because now everyone thinks I'm an insane person.
