How do you add El wire into a battery powered circuit?

Hello,

I am making led circuits with kids powered by 2x AA baterys and we would also like to use some El wire, (that strange glowing stuff) just a short piece for each one (eg 15cm) Is it possible to put in in the same circuit as the LEDs... and if so how?????

Electroluminescent wire requires AC to glow and from this site a high voltage around 100V.  See here:

So with 2 AA batteries you will need a very efficient inverter to generate 100V at some frequency.
