It gives three options, avatar, no picture, and yahoo! 360. What do you do to attach a picture that you have?

  1. You do need a Yahoo 360 page in order to get yourself a picture other than your Avatar if you don't already.

Once you edit your personal photos at Yahoo 360 and upload a personal image,( you can upload 2-3),  you can then select one to be your "primary profile picture".

Looking forward to seeing the new one.

  2. Basically everyone already said how to do it.  But then Yahoo has these occasional "lapses" when nothing seems to go as planned and one sits around scratching his/her head as to why the pic isn't being represented in your avatar.  The answer is anyone's guess.  Given enough time, so long as you follow the steps proffered by the above authors, your pic should show up so long as you upoaded a .jpg file in your 360 account and set it as default.  When it will show up is not a question even the brightest Cambridge Scholar can answer.

    Good luck on your quest.

  3. load jpeg picture in 360 & set as primary & save

    then

    in answer's profile

    click "edit my info"

click the button "use my 360 picture"

    click preview & ok

    goodluck ^_^

  4. If you want a photo/custom picture as your avatar you need to make a yahoo 360 page. http://360.yahoo.com/login.html?.done=ht...

click "my page" then "edit personal photo" then browse upload and save Set as primary. and save. go to your avatar choose your avatar>preview>OK. then go to yahoo>my profile>edit my info then click use my 360 picture>preview then OK.

Some users are experiencing a delay with the 360 avatar showing. it can take some time to show but it will eventually so try to be be patient.

  5. You will have to double-check that you've followed all the below steps and hope for the best. We should not see your Yahoo! Avatar (as we do right now), if you've done everything correctly. After that, whether your 360 image stays visible really is up to Yahoo! Answers at that point:

Create a 360 space at http://360.yahoo.com . While logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the BIG YELLOW "Get Started" BUTTON on the far right section of that page.

After that, you can log in by by clicking on the teeny tiny "Sign-in" button on the upper left of the page. Then, the page refreshes and click on the teeny tiny "Yahoo 360 Home" link on the upper right of the page to get into the 360 space.

Make sure a JPEG formatted photo (with .jpg, .jpeg, .jpe extension) under 5MB is saved to your hard drive.

    - Click your "My Page" link at the top

    - Click "Edit Profile Photos" over the empty picture frame

    - Click "Browse" and upload photo into an empty field. Then click one "use as primary" radio button on the right before saving (if you've uploaded more than one image).

You can't upload more than 4 profile pictures (this includes an avatar). Make sure that you are following the 360 Personal Photo guidelines here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/gui... .

Then, come back to Yahoo! Answers.

    - Make sure that it is the same Yahoo ID that you used for 360.

    - Click the "My Profile" link to the upper right of this Yahoo! Answers page, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page.

    - Scroll down to the image section and check the option of showing the 360 picture. Click Preview and then the OK button. Then, WAIT.

NOTE: The image may not show up right away in Y/A, as it sometimes take days (and for some weeks) for the system to catch up. So, in the meantime, you will be without any picture on Y/A (blank, grayed out, messed up...whatever you want to call it) or an old 360 image. Just go through the above process and let your picture stay that way until the system makes your 360 image appear. If you don't want to wait, then just use a Yahoo! Avatar (http://avatars.yahoo.com ) and forget about using the 360 image.

Also, some people never see an image show up. You can always post a bug report (or piggyback on other's bug reports) on the issue at the Y/A forum: http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=answe... . This link between Y/A and Y!360 has been buggy for years.

  6. TO CHANGE YOUR AVATAR TO YOUR PICTURE ON YOUR YA PROFILE

(Be sure you have your favorite pictures saved on your computer: to drive:C ‘My Pictures’ folder.)

Click on this link http://360.yahoo.com/ to go to your Yahoo 360 page.

    1. Click on ‘My Page’ then click ‘Edit Personal Photos’

    2. Upload your picture (click on "Browse", go to drive:C , open ‘My Pictures’ folder and select the picture you want to use.  Your image must be a jpeg file, either .jpg or .jpeg.)

    3. Check "Set as primary" next to your picture

    4. Click "Save" to finish

To display your picture in Yahoo! Answers::

    1. Click on your Yahoo Answers avatar.

    2. Click on "Edit My Info"

    3. In the picture setting, select "Use my Yahoo! 360 Picture"

    4. Click "Preview"

    5. Click "OK’

Note:  Yahoo! 360 is acting erratically most of the time, and you might not be able to display your picture right away.  But this is how it is done. Sometimes it takes days or weeks, so keep on trying.
