  1. mother - mom, mommy... ma in some cases lol mainly when im tired i guess

    father - daddy...

    grandfather - grandaddy, pop, pa

    grandmother - nana, granny, ma...

aunts & uncles - i usually just call the aunt or uncle followed by their first name or just their first name. ever since ive been an adult i dont feel obligated to use the 'aunt' or 'uncle' prefix when speaking to them or about them

  2. Well .. I got used since I was a kid to address them that way

    Father ….......... Pappie

    Mother ….......... Mommy

    Grandfather …... Geddo

    Grandmother …. Anna

    Aunt …….......… auntie or tante

    Uncle …........… uncle or 3mo

And yes … there are other things which I don’t call their names in Arabic ..lol.. I dunno why… but that’s how my mom used to teach me when i was a kid

    For example,

I don’t say “shebsheb” ..instead; slippers

I don’t say “gazma” ..instead; shoes

I don’t say “fanella” instead; flannel  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚€Â¦ (and other things related to flannel ..but I won’t say here …hehe )

Also, I don’t say “zebala” instead; rubbish

When sth. is unclean, I don’t say “wes….”  ..instead; msh nedeef or dirty

and also,i've never uttered bad language or insults ..alhamdulellah :)

    mmmm..if I remembered sth. else,I may edit

    teta.

aunts and uncles are called by their names,

  9. father = pappy (but when I was small, I called my father "mummy", too)

    mother = mummy

my aunt & uncle = I call them by their first name and I was never corrected to address them as "uncle so-so" or "aunt so-so".  I think they thought it was cute when I was younger and nobody corrected me it's a habit and they don't care.  But my brothers and sisters all call them by "my uncle so-so" and "my aunt so-so" (and we speak french/spanish so of course they call them in those languages, depending on what language we're speaking at the moment... lol).  Why do we add the "my"?  I don't know.

Most of my grandparents were not alive when I was born.
