How do you adjust freezer temperature on Frigidaire upright freezer?

The freezer is about 25 years old, but works like a charm. There is a dial that starts with "off" and then goes to the number 7, and counts downward to 1. I'm trying to figure out which is colder, the 7 or the 1. If i had lots of time, i could just ty both, but am trying to freeze some items for a party tomorrow and need to crank it up a bit to get some things frozen.

Higher numbers are for colder settings.  Keep in mind that it will take about the same length of tiem to freeze an item regardless of whether you set it to 5 or 7.  7 just results in a colder freeze temperature.
