I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber.

I have been told two different ways to adjust the rear brakes.

1. While driving in reverse pump the brake a few times.

2. Pump the emgerency brake.

Which one or both?

And how often should I do it?

Thanks a million!!!

  1. I like to pump it from behind then slam it into the front way emergency brake with some lubricant.

If that doesn't work, try reversing with the rear end high then lowering it over a monks face until substantial lubrication has been achieved and you are aware of a squealing (ecstatic) sound which might be you.

Full thrust should be achieved shortly after.

    I'm sorry.....what was the question again? ;o)

  2. should be disk brake is it not.. if its disk you dont have to adjust them but you might have to adjust parking brake.. if its old hub style you can adjust by backing up if everything is working the way it should many time it dont ...but there was a slot in the back of plate you used a brake adjustment tool since your car is 07 id say its disk brake all the way around and there wil be no adjustment to be made just pump. what you have been told work on old brakes shoe type not disk brake pads

  3. that cart should have disc brakes in the rear correct? you do not need to adjust disc brakes. drum brakes on the other hand, sure the reverse idea and locking up the brakes is how it is dome on mine (a 68 gto).
