How do you adjust titanium eye glass frames in as much as their nature is to spring back to original shape? I understand you have to use heat but how much and what about melting the lenses? Do you have to remove the lenses until adjustment is accomplished? My optometrist doesn’t seem to be able to do this; he broke two pair of frames trying to adjust the nose bridge. I had to wait until he ordered another frame and now I still have the same problem. Every time I get new glasses the first thing that has to be adjusted is to straighten out how they sit across the face. This has never been a big deal until now when I foolishly chose titanium frames. Why do all frames seem to be made to swoop up on the outside rather than sit level across your face? I’ve always had this problem and I see a lot of people’s glasses with the same issue.

  1. The only part of a metal frame that is ever heated to adjust it , is the plastic tips on the ends of the temples.

Heating a metal frame won't help in adjustment...it will just make it too hot to hold...lol

Titanium is very breakable...it just snaps when bent the wrong way...you really should have it done by someone who knows what they are doing.

That swooping up on the corners is most likely because the lenses are inserted wrong, and changing the shape. The lenses will have to be turned in the frame...unless they had to put them in crooked because they are cut off axis....then they should be redone.

  2. You have to hold the frames in the position that makes them the way you want them.  Sometimes you really have to tweet them for a long, long time.  Don't heat them or the lenses!  It's just a matter of patience.  Once you wear them more, they will become more flexible and will be adjusted easier.
