The last resort around here closed last Sunday. I think I'm going insane!! I don't know what to do. Is there a 12 step for us?

  1. Look up freeboarding.  Freeboards were invented and designed for basically snowboarding on streets and hills without snow.

They're pretty awesome, they are definitely your best bet.

  2. I sit in the corner and cry

  3. i found it best to pick up skateboarding but also you can buy a trapoline and practice mistys and other tricks with your board. thats about all i do

  4. i freeboard, i found that keeps me happy

i also tried this weird fake snow stuff on my buddies slope in his backyard, a little bit of goop + a hill + a rail + a beer = good times in the summer

the "goop" i'm talking about is snowgel

  5. Isn't that just the age old question? what to do in the off season. Wake boarding is unbelievably close to snowboarding I find, you carve similar, and jump similar,  but it requires you to be near an open source of water, and have access to a boat.

If your really desprate you could hike up to a glaciar I guess, but you might be stuck with the rest of us, watching snowboard videos, reading mags, and Praying for next winter

  6. hahaha I know what you mean. i just took up skateboarding. its pretty fun. it took me an hour or two to ollie and shuvit. give it a try. if you have a quater of the money you spent on snowboarding you can get some good stuff for skateboarding. if your going to get gear go to tgm skateboards on ebay or something

  7. I don't cope, I sit in the dark corner of my room and rock myself back and forth for at least an hour per day. The only thing that makes me happy is going to the post-season sales. Hooray for getting a $300 jacket for $80! :)

  8. come up to maine--sugarloaf will be open thru may 4th and almsot 100% of the terrain is still open

  9. try wakeboarding! its a lot like snowboarding and it's really sick when you learn how to do it.

  10. MOUNTAINBOARDING!

  11. ive been asking the same question for two years now... my answers have been:

    skateboarding

    surfing

    sandboarding (in dunes)

doing rails with fake snow like the girl above me said...

sandboarding is awesome if you have the guts and sand and a board (dont use your good snowboard for this it will kick the c**p out of it) it is by far the most similar but probably the hardest to pick up

the others arent really the same but any of them will ease the the loss at least alittle.

EDIT: ive been looking up sandboarding alittle more and you should really look into it, i think im definitly gonna pick it up

  12. welcome in the group !!!

i had the same problem 4 years ago so i decided to move to Whistler and I'm still here now.

Ive been riding for 15 years and i used the hate summer as i don't skate.

There is still a off season but its only 3 month.

i think this is the best way to keep on riding.

Mount Hood or Whistler both have really good summer condition as you get the best condition ever (riding at 30 degree).

Surfing is a really good alternative

  13. I go snowboarding at Hood!

    I also skate and surf.

Also, I snowboard so much during the season its good on my body to have a little break.

You can grab a truckload of snow from a skate rink and set up a summer rail.

  14. i know how you fell so on the offseason I skateboard and rollerblade.

  15. honestly, i work my a** off all summer so i can take 6 moths off and ride every day
