  1. Depends on how good they are.  They are not normally included in the daily tips that are deducted from your bill.

Last cruise we had a butler and we gave him $75.00 at the end of the week.  But he was very good and helpful.

We had a terrible concierge guy on a Royal Caribbean cruise once, he ran the private lounge.  We didn't tip him anything.   Tip them according to how well you think they did their job.

  2. It depends on how much you ask of them or use their services.  Figure about $4.00 to $6.00 per day per person for the butler for basic services and $7.50 to $10.00 per day per person for the butler if you ask a lot of your butler.

A concierge should be tipped based on how complex the task you are asking.  Perhaps $5 per easy task, $10 each for a moderate task and $15 - 20 for a difficult task.  It is basically the same as for a land based concierge.

  3. on some cruise lines they have the tips added to your bill as soon as you get in the cruise. i know for a fact carnival cruise charges you 80dollars for the tip. anytime you use your sailing card you will see the tip taken out

  4. On the cruise I went on, they put envelopes in my cabin on the last day for tips.   I went with $2-$3 a day for the waiters and housecleaning, $1-2 for everyone else.

Some cruises automatically include gratuity though, so double check with the line you're on.

  5. Check with the cruise line.  They have recommended minimums.
