  1. first open

    3x+6-2x-2=8

    collect the same with the same

    x+4=8

    move the five to the other side and flip it to become menus

    x=8-4

    x=4

  2. Ok, so first distribute over your parentheses:

    3x + 6 -2x - 2 = 8

    now gather like terms (all the xs on one side and the integers on the other)

    3x - 2x + 6 - 2 = 8

    x +4 = 8

    x = 8-4

    x= 4

    You are almost done - now check your answer by plugging x = 4 back into your original equation and make sure that it actually works:

    3(4+2) - 2(4+1) = 8

    3(6) - 2(5) = 8

    18 - 10  = 8

    8 = 8

  3. so first you would take everything out of parenthesis (i know i spelled that wrong...)

    so instead of

    3(x+2)-2(x+1)=8

    it would be

    3x+6-2x-2=8

    (because 3 times x=3x, 3 times 2=6, -2 times x= -x, and -2 time 1= -2

    then you would subtract and add,

    but you don't need to add anything, so it would just be subtracting:

    6-2=4

    and

    3x-2x=x

    so the equation would now be:

    x+4=8

    now you would cancel out on both sides to make it even.

    8-4=4

    so now the equation would be

    x=4

    and that's your answer!

    it takes a lot of practice to get the equations down,

    but after you do, it's really simple!

  4. huh...

  5. X=4       3(4+2)  3X6=18     2(4+1)  2X5=10

                                         18-10=8

  6. 2 answer u have 2 use the distributive property.

    multiply the 3 times x and 3 times 2. then multiply -2 times x and -2 times 1.

    3(x + 2) - 2(x + 1) = 8

    3x +6-2x-2=8

    then add all the x's and regular #s together

    3x-2x=x and 6-2=4

    that gives you x+4=8

    subtract the 4 from each side

    x=4

  7. Okay, this is easy. Don't worry.

    1. 3(x + 2) can be transferred to 3x+6. Because 3 times x is 3x and 3 times 2 is 6

    2. 2(x + 1) can be transferred to 2x + 2. Because 2 times x is 2x and 2 times 1 is 2.

    3. So now you have 3x + 6 - 2x + 2. At this point you can switch around your problem any which way you want, because its all addition and subtraction!!

    Math is alot about perception. Make sure you understand that those addition and subtraction signs are also positive and negative signs. They're the same thing.  Which means, you can move the numbers around like this; 3x -2x + 6 + 2

    4. Okay, look at the back. 6 + 2. That's easy. Simplify it to 3x - 2x + 8.

    5. Now there's something else you can simplify. 3x - 2x. That's easy, too. Your left with one x. That give you x+8.

    In case you aren't familiar with adding and subtracting variables, I'll explain it to you.  3x is the same thing as x+x+x. 2x is the same as x+x. So, if you have 3 x's and you take 2 away, you have one left. Simple subtraction. So x+x+x minus x+x is x. Get it?

    Anway, you've now got x + 8=8.

    Obviously, x =1

    Hope this helped! :D Good Luck.

  8. WHOAH THAT WAS EASY!

    well anyway the answer is 7 and how i did it was kinda backwards

    so what plus one = 8? and ya it makes sence then you know that the

    x= 7 and then you take it from there

  9. 3x+6-2x-2=8

    (3x-2x) = x

    x+4=8(-4)

    x=4
