How do you apply for disability?

i am not able to work due to an accident that resulted in replacement of my left knee, that along with the medication for pain for the past three years is a huge deturent for me being able to work.

I recently went to the social security office to pick up an application for my brother. They told me he had to make an appointment with their office. However, I was looking around on the social security website and I'm pretty sure you can apply on there. www.ssa.gov

After the application process you have to make an appointment for a phone interview. My mom recently had to do this with my dad. It seems like a pretty long phone call, but of course the whole process to sign up is stressful and long. I hope you get approved on your first round! If not, please do not give up! I've seen many people who are technically not as disabled as others and get many more benefits than the ones who deserve it. I wish you the best of luck with getting your benefits :)
