How do you apply your mascara?

Question

I got new mascara, its maybelline (the green and pink one) and apparently the # 1 mascara in america. Anyways, I don't really like the look I get when I apply it, My eyelashes are usually a bit clumpy and it always gets a bit messy on my eyelid. I don't want to go buy a new one because this one is perfectly good and new... But any tips on how to apply it? Like right to left? Blink everytime.. Anything helps. Thanks!

I don't like that mascara, I use the new one. Its orange. I forget the name. It's amazing because the brush/brissles are bigger. So less mascara. But I put it on slowly so I dont smack my eye :)

wiggle the brush back and forth as you apply it then run an old toothbrush through it to remove clumps

i use it all the time i love it but sometimes it does clup..blink everytime works for me but i only do it once because i have super long eye lashes.. it depends on how long lashes u have...try to get it as close as ur eye lash roots as possible.. i hope i helped :D

just have you eyelid sort of open and keep applying it upwards and get the edges...

look up when applying...

after you apply rub off some mascara w/ a tissue.. that way it rubs off the clumps and reduces the amount of it running later

I don't. Mascara makes me look like every ***** on the street.

I prefer the natural look and I've got it.

When I apply mascara I look upward and with my eyes wide, and brush from the area closest to my nose first (going towards the other side of my eye.)

Make sure that you're brushing from UNDERNEATH your eyelashes as well (I know some people who put it on from the top and it just doesn't work as well...)

One more thing: That maybelline mascara that you've been trying may be the number one mascara in the U.S. but I've personally tried it and I think it sucks. If you want a more natural eyelashes I would suggest something like Maybelline Define-A-Lash® mascara in brown....

Or try more than one brand of mascara...

Since my lashes are already long, i never start from the root of the lash. I start off from about the middle, and put the wand outwards. I do this about three times. If i brush ur lashes alot with the wand, it will clump your lashes for sure.

I have the same problem but I have the maybelline all pink one and it always clumps up or makes my eyelashes stick together. I've tried the blinking every time, look up and put it on, left to right, ect and it never works.. maybe it's just the mascara? haha... I wish I could help but I have the same problem as you.... :[ sorry.

Hmm....it just sounds like you are applying too much. I just run the brsh from eyelid to end of lash and I have no problems as long as i don't apply too much

keep your eyes open kinda wide that way you wont get any in your actual eye, then instead of putting the whole brush thing in and pumping it, just put it in once and take it out slowly

make sure to spread the extra mascara from the brush back into the bottle before applying- it shouldnt be full of the stuff when you use it; use an eyelash bend-wand before to even your lashes and apply lightly-2 coats at most.

i first put it under my eye and blink like five times then i put it on like from bottom to top like as if u r brushing it and there

First of all, I would never wear that stuff. You pay for what you get u know. But if your not willing to buy the good stuff, add a little drop of water to the inside of the tube that will make it smoother when applying.

try blinking really slowly-

put the mascara stick by your eyelashes and blink really slowly on it, and then get more mascara on it and do it up and down the eylashes, thats how i do it. dont do to many little ones on the ends as that makes it clumpyy

you should start at the base of your eyelashes and then wiggle up.

i apply upward strokes to the side lashes on my top and bottom lid. It makes the eyes look bigger. If its clumpy keep stroking up with the brush until the clumps gp away

Open your eye really wide, usually involves openning your mouth lol.

Swipe the brush across your lashes, I usually "divide" them into three sections, making my way across.

Go back over them all.

Repeat with other eye.

Don't push too hard, that's how it ends up on your eyelids. Going back over them can help get rid of the clumps, just don't go back over them too many times and don't put the brush back into the bottle either, that just adds more. You'll get better, just takes practice.
