How do you audition for Disney or Nickelodeon?

ok me and 3 friends have a band but we act, too. we live 2 hours away from NYC but we would rather not have to travel( i feel bad for dragging my dad places)but we will. we are around the age of 13 and we would LOVE to get to Disney or Nickelodeon, so how do we do it? and can we get 3 roles in one movie or show? how do we find out about auditions? thanks soo much if you help me

you dont love acting many girls love acting and want it because they love acting not just because they want to be famous there is a website BUT PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO LOVE TO ACT WOULD WANT TO BE ON NICK OR DISNEY DONT JUST WANT IT FOR THE FAME!!!!

WOW. well Disney auditions are held in the West side of the U.S.. For Disney Channel auditions, you would have to travel all the way to California, not NYC. And Nickelodean is in Florida. So if you really want to act on Disney Channel, you will eventually have to travel to that area of the U.S

Well, you probably will have no oppotunity to do so, as most of the auditions are in LA. If you  were a big star where you are, one of the producers or casting directors  might come looking for you. So the way to do it, is to become as good and well known where you are. Unfortunately, it is absolutely necessary for one's parents to actively work for a youngster to become a teen actor. The parents have to sign for everything pro anyone under 18 does.

The only way I can think of for your situation is to make a demo tape (promo DVD) and write a letter and send it to Disney / Nick execs and Casting Directors hoping someone thinks it would be a great idea for you to be on a show.  Honestly?  Disney doesn't do anything in NY that I can think of and they never hire friends as a group unless it's a kitschy thing like the Jonas Brothers or the Naked Brothers Band or something like that... You basically have to make a DVD introducing your group to them and state briefly why it would so great for them if they hired you.  It has to be extremely compelling in the first 5 seconds, it has to be less than 2 minutes total, and it has to be fairly well made.  Even then, know that they may never look at it.  It could go into the trash and you may never hear from anyone.  That's the way this works.  You do lots of work just in the hopes that someone will give you a shot.

As for finding auditions, mainly for solo acts, check out ActorsAccess.com & Backstage.com  Your parents would need to do this with you to ensure that you do not put too much info.  Never put your home info, it should always be their cell phone.  They should always have your schedule with them so they know when they can schedule an audition, etc.  You all need to go over ground rules for what types of projects you will and won't submit for and who is allowed to do that.  Really, they should check out the site with you.
