I am creating a new workbook I would like the information column a sheet 1 to automatically copy to column a sheet two when I input new data. Is this linking? How do you reference this or find the instruction?

Thank you

  1. Hmm.. I think updating another sheet from another sheet will not make any difference. But copying the 1st sheet with the new data is possible..

  2. if you want cell A1 in Sheet1 to show up in A1, Sheet2  just go to A1 on sheet2 and enter

    =SHEET1!A1

you can also just type the

    = sign

and then use your mouse to navigate to the other cell you want to link to, click the cell then press <enter>

you can also link to cells in other files as well.  Open up both files, type = then use your mouse to go to othe file, click the cell you want to link, then press Enter

  3. you click on the original cell, and then right click and select copy, you then go to the next sheet, or file and click on the cell you want it to be in, right click and select paste special, then click on paste link, then ok. It will then update when you change the first cell.
