Question:

How do you avoid getting blisters from your sports bra?

I started running about two months ago and have been on a training schedule for a marathon. I'm starting to run for longer periods of time and farther (like 7 miles, 2 hours). And now my sports bra gives me blisters along one seam and on the front where the strap rubs. I don't notice it all when I'm running.

I know putting vaseline on my toes before I run keeps me from getting blisters, should I do the same with the problem spots from my sports bra? That's going to be a bit messier...

I suppose I could get another sports bra without seams but... I need to also have one that has a lot of support.

  1. Okay, your sports bra is not supportive enough, because your bouncing and sweating, your bound to chaf.  Go to a running store and try on different types, jump up and down in the change room and see if your bouncing.  I am 32DD and need alot of support as well.  I wear NIke Dry Fit zip front bra and its not too bad (bought in on ebay for $15)  CW-X or Shock Absorber is the best for support.  Its worth the investment.  If you bounce too much, your breast tissue (muscles on the side of your breast) will eventually sag.)

Also I would buy some Body Glide (found in running stores) its much better and less messier than Vaseline.  (Its small enough to carry it in your waist water belt pocket).  Use it for all your chafing areas, including your toes.
