My hamster ran under the refrigerator today, we got him out but now he has a bunch of gross black dirt on his fur. How can I wash it off of him?

  1. u can try something like small brushes from barbie dolls or a new toothbrush and gently brush the fur. make sure ALL the dust is brushed away.ur hamster will b as good as new!

    best of luck!!

  2. You don't. Unless he has something toxic on his fur, never try to bathe him. They are very sensitive to temperature changes and it can kill them. Try to use an old toothbrush or just a dry washcloth to get most of it off.

  3. You don't.  Wipe it off with a baby wipe or just wet a paper towel.

  4. You don't.

Take a toothbrush and brush the dirt out of his fur.

You can also buy chinchilla sand, it has to be the sand, and let him roll around in it.

You should never get a hamster wet, unless there is something toxic or sticky on their fur that they can not get out themselves.

  5. U dont

  6. Ooooh, he sounds cute! Ok so buy this stuff:

    Then:

Put the hamster in your (empty) bath or sink. Take the shampoo and mix it with water in a bowl. Then, soak your hand in the mixture and wipe it on the hamster until he's all sudsy. Then clean out the bowl and fill it with clean water. Do the same as with the shampoo. Lift him out and dry him with a cloth!

  7. You shouldnt actually bathe him. You can wipe him off with baby wipes but I would just brush him with a clean, new tooth brush or some sort of a soft bristled brush. I have done a lot of research on hamsters and this is what I have found to work best.

Hope I helped! and Good Luck!!!

  8. Don't. Hamsters clean themselves, like cats. If you want to help the little guy out though, brush him. He'll probably squirm a bit, but brush his fur out with a toothbrush or another brush with special bristles that are super gentle.

Don't brush off his face, because you might hurt him. You can also blow air gently on him. From your mouth, that is. This will get smaller particles of dust off.
