There's been one at this table in the same seat for days. I know it bets before the flop with high cards or a pair. Any way you can bust it?

  1. you should be able to bluff it out easily. if there's 3 suited or connected cards on the board, for example, if you reraise, i'm sure it's programmed to fold.

  2. Only Lady Luck knows the true answer to that

  3. Observation should tell you pretty quickly how it's programmed.  If it's been playing the same seat for days simply observe the table and write down what it does in what situations.  Be sure to write down

    Position

    Call or raise pre-flop

Number of people going to flop

    Flop cards

    Check, bet, call, raise, fold

    Turn card

    Check, bet, call, raise, fold

    River

    Check, bet, call raise, fold

If you watch for maybe an hour and input your results into a spreadsheet you should be able to tell by the flop if it has a hand or not.  Be sure to note how it responds to checks, if it makes continuation bets, if it folds to a re-raise, if it will push with bottom pair, etc.  Basically all the stuff you should be watching for in a human player.  Remember, there are a lot of variables, but it will always react the same way.  Some vendors claim that their bots "learn" according to the time it takes somebody to make a bet, the size of the bet, etc.  But if you have a bot clocked, figure out its pattern before you sit down, and then play against it you should be able to destroy it easily.  Just don't forget that there are other people at the table.
