How do you beat screaming mantis in MGS4?

You must shoot the small puppets that she carries around. shoot them until they fall and then pick them up. after wards select the dolls as weapons and use the sorrow doll to shoot her. there will be controls that you must then press. (i believe it is up and shake the controller or triangle and shake the controller) they will show up on screen.
