How do you become a Designated Marksman for the USMC?

Is it an MOS just like sniper where you have to go through weeks of training?

First you must complete basic training.

Marksman is a low score on the range.

You mean (Expert).

You must score (expert) first.

Then you must qualify (very high), to even be considered for sniper school.

No corrective lenses, of course.

I don't know the M.O.S. number.

The few, the proud, the Marines.

you have to join and show outstanding marksman ship and then be asked to go through the training and/or volunteer (and/or is because if you are really good they will just make you once in the military they own you and do what they wish with you)

Go ask a recruiter. I believe this is one of those things you must volunteer for after boot. Become a Marine before you get specific, that should be your first challenge.
