How do you become a Top Contributer?

How do you get the status, ''Top Contributer'' under your name?

Sorry if this is a silly question but i just wanted to know, thanks!

The TC badge is a measure of RECENT participation (within the last 1 to 3 weeks), and you can get it on any level from 2 up.

You can hold TC badges in up to 3 lowest-level categories at once (except 'Polls&Surveys' and 'Jokes&Riddles'). Badges come and go on Monday mornings. Yahoo keeps the formula secret, and it's subject to change at any moment. It probably also varies from category to category, depending on volume of questions. Experienced users have formed guesses, but they're just GUESSES.

You probably need around:

- 20-40 answers per week in the category

- at least 20 'best answers' in the category within the last 3 weeks

- 200 or more total points per week (including all answers, B.A.s, votes, and 'thumbs ups') in the category

If your level of participation falls, you will likely lose your badge. Concentrate on participating regularly and giving high-quality answers in just a few categories to earn or keep a badge.

You have to have multiple accounts, Identity's. then you answer all your questions on One Subject, Seems a bit narrow minded to me but that's Yahoo

In Multiple IDs you keep giving yourself best answer

How do you think some so thick are top contributors and have more than half best answers. In reality they couldn't tell you how to tie your shoelaces

Find a section that you are knowledgeable in and answer a lot of questions. It does not matter how many points you have.  Answer the questions the best you can so you can get best answer.  Get a certain % of best answers.  No one knows exactly what the formula is on how yahoo figures who gets the TC badge.  You just wait until Monday mornings and it is just there. You can also lose your TC badge you do not always get to keep it.  It is done week by week. Hope this helps!!!
