  1. Miley took drama lessons and performed in school plays prior to HM, she also spent time on the set of her dad's cable tv show.

Anyone who wants to be an actor needs to take acting lessons. All of your competition at auditions are in acting lessons. Working actors still take lessons. That's the first step. Most good acting schools have connections and will have casting directors call when need actors, especially for kid actors.

There were about 1000 girls who auditioned for HM, and at first Miley was considered for another part. But, she has a star quality that made her stand out from the other girls, and she has a natural comedic timing. A friend who works at Disney and had a part in hiring Miley knew right off that Miley would be a big star. Miley had a certain star quality that translates well over the tv.

It really didn't have much to do with her dad, he had very little pull in the industry. There are lots of kids of bigger stars who aren't getting the parts they're auditioning for. It was advantageous to Miley that she could hang out on a set and get to know the process and people in the industry, but that just cracked the door open, she had to walk through it herself and she certainly did. She's not a fantastic actor or singer, but she does have *it*. And *it* is something you can't learn or buy. Now if she can just keep her clothes on...

  2. Miley Cyrus was on Doc and in Big Fish before ever doing Hannah Montana. She took acting classes and got an agent before all that too.

She didn't just pop up, she worked hard. And if you really knew about what went on in the HM casting, they turned her down like 3 times and she kept auditioning.

  3. Forget about fame. Making it big is not the key point... the key point is to be an artist. Just pursue it, perform, perform, perform, in any possible play to get seen by as many people possible... practice is finally what will get you on stage in a solid way. Make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. Being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. If you finally get famous doing what you really like, that will be great, but dont force it!. Best of luck

  4. Take classes.

  5. Her father was an international superstar.  Just because you hadn't heard of her before doesn't mean she wasn't working hard before Hannah.
