  1. buy a cab, drive around the road, oh take a map, oh apply for a licence first that might help

  2. The big money is to be made here in London.  My neighbour is a London Black Cab driver and probably rakes in about £50,000 in a good year.  Mind you, he is a crafty Cockney, a bit of an Artful Dodger if you know what I mean.

To become a Cabbie here in London, you must first do the "Knowledge".  This takes about two years.  When you pass the exam, you then get a badge and away you go etc.

You'll also be glad to hear that Mayor Ken Livingston has once again allowed our London Cabbies to put their prices up.  He's done this every year for the past ten years. Soon, you'll need to take out a mortgage to be able to hire one.

  3. noo idea, call a cab and ask the driver :P

  4. In London it takes 2 years to learn the knowledge. other places arent as strict. you have to take a strict medical your eye sight has to better than is normally requested for a driving test. you also have to pass another driving test. an n.v.q. 2 courses one for wheelchair handling and disabled passengers. then you have to pass a disclosure from when you were at school and nothing is classed as spent not even a warning. a speeding fine etc. if you pass all that you might get a badge to operate. You have the honour of paying up front and if you fail money is not refunded. I haven't heard of a more difficult job to get into. It didn't use to be like that.
