How do you become a driver for an off road race team?

I never raced before. But i always wanted to have a team and be the driver. So what steps should i take to get started? Roughly How much of an investment is needed to get started?

a lot of money. you could put dirt tires on your car for starters and take it on a dirt road and see what happens.....
