How do you become a film director?

I already graduated from a liberal arts college with a non film degree but I decided that I am interested in being a director. So, do I go to graduate school and study directing? Also, what are some of the best graduate schools for film directing? Thanks.

Enter your work in as many places as you can and get noticed, once you gain work you will be noticed.

Look for sites on the internet, independant films looking for directors.
