How do you become a nascar/racecar driver?

well NASCAR usually starts with deciding to do quarter midgets or go-karts. either one is hard and dangerous. i personally prefer go-karts because i race them lol go karts race road courses and i believe occasionally ovals. Quarter midgets ONLY race ovals, but with karts you start at like age 8. and with quarter midgets you can start at age 5.  racing is dangerous but quarter midgets are safer.  For quarter midgets when you are sixteen your done and you move on to midgets which still only race ovals but they are bigger than the quarter midgets and then there is sprint cars which are bigger than midget. with go-karts you can stick with racing the karts only it gets a lot faster and way more competitive. then it depends on where you go from there... there is indy lights and an atlanta leagure or something but thats for a career in IRL. for NASCAR there is stock cars and stuff like that. you will see Kasey Kahne umm Carl Edwards still racing midgets and silver crown when they aren't in NASCAR. also there is drag racing but idk much about that but you can start in junior drag too. haha wow that was long but i hope that helps =]]

I sent a letter to NASCAR asking them how I could become a driver and they sent me a letter back telling me I needed a lot of experience at local tracks and I need to get more familiar with the sport.  They also gave me an address to send a resume to when I think I'm ready.  Then I can be considered for one of the series based on the information given.

I think what most teams look at is potential and what you could improve on in the future.

I wish I could find the address to send a resume to but I can't find my letter I got back.  Try to email me later on if you're really interested.  Or you could write to NASCAR like I did.
