How do you become a part-time model as a college student?

There are so many fake model searches that demand money. I dont want to become famous or anything, I just want some income while Im in school. I go to school in Atlanta, so it should not be too hard to find a magazine or clothing store that wants models.

  1. Elite is one of the top modeling agencies in the world and they have an office in Atlanta, so I would start by going to one of their open calls.

If that doesn't work out for you, contact the department stores and local magazines and ask them which modeling agencies they use, and then submit your portfolio to them. I've only been to Atlanta once, so I'm not too knowledgeable about it, but I do remember that Phipps Plaza & Lennox Square were pretty huge malls and they both had department stores, so maybe you could start there. When you're young & personable ppl tend to hook you up with info, so going there might be better than shooting them an email.

You're right that many of the modeling searches are fake. Agencies that demand money are not legit.

    Good luck! : )

  2. Hire/contact an agent, usually that's the only way to get seriously hired unless you have good connections.

Or, go to local businesses and offer your service? Make a little resume with information about your height and weight and hair and all that stuff and you should be okay.
