1. get a 4 year degree

2. go to delta connection accademy

3. get lots of hours with a regional airline

4. apply for a major airline ( i was thinking EVA Air because it says on their site if you have 1000 jet hours and all the multi engine ratings you can become a 747-400, MD-11 or 777-300 first officer)

  1. from the FAA:

What is the first step to becoming a pilot?

Decide what you want to fly. FAA’s rules for getting a pilot’s license (certificate) differ depending on the type of aircraft you fly. You can choose among airplanes, gyroplanes, helicopters, gliders, balloons, or airships. If you are interested in flying ultralight vehicles, you don’t need a pilot’s license.

You should also think about what type of flying you want to do. There are several different types of pilot’s licenses, from student pilot all the way up to airline transport pilot. The information below describes the eligibility, training, experience, and testing requirements for Student Pilots, Recreational Pilots and Private Pilots.

lots more at web page .... good luck!

  2. I am 16 and I just soloed to day. I also work at a flight school. If you'd like, just send me an e-mail and I can talk to you about what it was like and what you would have to do to fly. From what  you typed, currently all I can say is take it one step at a time. That isn't a step, thats like a cross country road trip. If you have any questions just shoot me an e-mail and I can help you with them. I think its great that you took up a passion for aviation. First, what you should do is go to aopa.com/FTfree    . Answer the questions and AOPA will send you 6 months free of flight training magazines plus you will get members access to the site. Good Luck!

  3. 1. Yes you need a 4 year degree. There's no specific major you need, but you need one because it shows that you're a trainable person.

    2. No. You don't need to go to Delta Connection Academy, that is if you complete your flight training during college. I'm 15, and I started my private pilot training when I was 13. I will get my liscence when I'm 17 and solo this year when I turn 16. I'm planning on getting me commercial during college and working as a flight instructor throughout college. Then I'm going to apply for a job with a regional airline (Republic Airways, Comair, etc.). This will allow me to build up turbo jet time which is required by most large airlines. If you have any questions about starting lessons at your age you can email me

    3. You shouldn't always apply for airlines that have the least expectations. Don't focus on one airline. It might not be around in 10 years. The airline indsutry is a very trippy business.
