How do you become a solicitor and what qualifications would i need?

Hi I'm in year 10 and would like to become a solicitor when i leave school, i was wondering what GCSE's i need, also what further education qualifications to,on the same hand what could i do to make sure i do succeed up to leaving school etc

  1. It won't matter much what GCSEs you have, although good grades at Maths and English are always preferable.

    You would need to have three good A-levels. Law is a very popular university course, and the better your A-level grades the better your chances of getting onto a course at a good university. It generally doesn't matter what subjects you do (although humanities based subjects are probably best). If your college or school does law A-level, it's not necessarily a good idea to do it. A lot of universities are wary about it as it has such a different format from degree level law.

  2. You will need to take A levels then you will need to go on to University and take a law degree.  

  3. Well for studying law (as opposed to nursing LOL) you should check with the university you intend to go to for their entry qualifications. Generally speaking English, social subjects and RE are the ones most acceptable.
