  1. Two years' college is required for this position...an Associates' degree or the equivalent.  (As per the highly qualified mandates in NCLB.)

  2. Hi I have been a teachers aid for 5 years now.

I did a Integration Aid course with Truscott Education Services in Croydon Victoria, Australia for 1 term, and found a position in a private school within 1 month of finishing, also some of the Universities offer Integration courses for Special Ed.

It 's a very full filing job.

    Good Luck

  3. depends on your state in Mo you can go to the state schools and get the 800 noumber for the test and if you pass you wait for the job call you district and find out the quals.

  4. In Queensland (Australia) there are teacher aide classes at Tafe colleges etc. They do not that I know of touch on special education, but can get you on the right path to an education setting. Try approaching special schools or special education units to volunteer. This way whilst you are studying to be a teachers aide you are getting hands on and learning the ropes. Or do volunteer work until you apply to do the course, this would look good on your application. Good luck. This will certainly help you get a job.

  5. first u have to have teaching exp, afterwards u can proceed to do management related of how school can be runned. u shd be an educator of that qualification. wish u the best !

  6. I do the same thing that you're talking about, in Massachusetts it's called a Paraprofessional.

I don't know if it's called something different in all states.

  7. Are you talking about the student helpers? They sign up for a class. They are called peer tutors here. You just need to want to do it. Usually some referals from your current teacher. Talk to the special ed teachers to find out for sure. If you are talking about the adult job where you get paid,I think that it depends on what state you are in. All of them I am sure require a background check. I would go to your local school district office and ask what the requirements are. (Here you need a desire to work with special needs kids and a high school diploma). It's hard for a lot of school districts to find special ed teachers and assistants, but it's a worthwhile job.

  8. You need a high school diploma and (I think, now, with No Child Left Behind) an AA degree or some college.  It helps to have experience working with children, especially disabled ones, but it's not required.

  9. call your school administration office and tell them thats what you want to do. the schools in our town are begging for people like you.
