  1. It takes study, patience and practice. A lot of it. You don't have to be born with any skills to be a witch...just a desire to practice and learn.

Read books on the subject (good and bad, then form your own opinion), join groups and research on the internet.

Witchvox could help you find a teacher or groups in your area.

  2. I'd like to know that one too!!

  3. How old are you? If you are younger than 18,and living under your parents roof and it is important to them, follow the ways of your parents. This builds a good moral base. Then study get books research. Spend time getting to know the world around you and mostly yourself. A  baby wiccan step would be, resepecting nature the world that the Gods have placed in our hands, and doing only good to your fellow human.Remember "do as ye will but harm no one".

  4. Try the site below:

  5. Hey sweetie, welcome to the Path! I agree with read, read, read, but also recommend explore, explore, explore. Sometimes people here sound so stuffy - religion should be fun! Ever hug a tree? sing to the stars? played with Tarot? Try it! It's fun fun fun! :) Yesterday at our Lughnasadh ritual at the lake, we had a ritual drama, live music, dancing and singing, followed by a potluck picnic under the trees where we were throwing blueberries into each other's bras and pants and laughing our heads off. THAT's what religion is supposed to be about! ;) I don't recommend Silver RavenWolf unless you enjoy having someone nag at you and insult you. Start with Starhawk's "The Spiral Dance". It's a classic, about ready for its 30th anniversary edition. Also I recommend that you look around for groups in your area offering events and classes. Witchvox.com has a local group listing - also try http://witches.meetup.com. It will ask for your zip code and then give you a list of groups near you, and most meetups offer friendly no-obligation socials to just hang out and meet people. Good luck! Hugs and bright blessings! ~MorningStar

  6. Repent child...repent.  Ask your lord and savior for his forgiveness for even asking such a question.  You are asking to dabble in the ocult.  You do not want to open the door to demonic forces.  Today is Sunday...go to church and ask to be cleansed from these dangerous and blasphemous thoughts.

***Hey!  I was just s******g around!  Nine thumbs down!  Are you kidding me???

  7. As a practicing Wiccan, I always say start with reading. "ride a silver broomstick " by silver ravenwolf is a good start. Witchvox.com is a great website. I would also suggest that you go to your local Pagan Pride event and meet people. http://paganpride.org/ If you are under 18, then you will not be taught without parent permission, but you can read all you want and start your journey learning about Mother Earth and the4 God and Goddess. Be prepared though, many will try and scare you away, ( like viking) who seem to think their way is the only way.  There are soooo many paths to the same place. find one you like. Blessed be... Jen

  8. witchvox is a very interesting site, many fascinating articles

  9. i dunno... google it.lol

  10. Look up SIlver Ravenwolf.

She writes Wicca books for teenagers. She's fluffy, and it's good beginner information.

  11. Start by reading books and learning.  Witch and Wicca aren't exactly the same thing, so decide which path you want to choose.

We can't teach you, but we can answer your questions if you have any while reading/studying it from the books.

You don't have to be born with the skill.  We all have the skill required whether you realize it or not.

  12. Go to a witch school like this British kid Harry Potter, and study until you graduate. And put an ad in your local newspaper and a website. Easy. And then an ambulance will appear with three nurse guys in front of your house, and they will take you to the lunatic state hospital in no time,. Say hello to the crazies you will meet there. Ridiculous!

P.D.: Wiccan and satanism, plus UFOs and Vodoo, and many other idiocies, are phony balony!

  13. First, you need to learn the difference between a witch and a Wiccan.  If you don't even know wht a witch or a Wiccan is, how can you possibly know you want to be one?

    read, read, read, read, read.

And no, you don't need to be born with special abilities in order to be either.  Fiction and TV shows are not good sources of information.

  14. you dont because there is no such thing

  15. the website http://wicca.timerift.net is a good first step. Since you're saying "the skill," I do not think you mean Wiccan at all, and the 101 section at that site will help you get an understanding...

I recommend not using the term "Wiccan" until you've accomplished three things:

    1. Researched at least two traditions, one to the second level (there are a couple of traditions which actually have books that go to that level...whether I approve of those groups or not, the fact remains that you can get an understanding of how Wicca works in general from such books.)

    2. Learned at least the basics of Wiccan ethics and embraced them. Sadly, many Wiccans don't get this far. I recommend the following two links as ESSENTIAL to understanding Wiccan ethics:

    http://www.paganlibrary.com/ethics/wicca...

    http://www.cuew.org/thefivepoints.html

(both of these can be found elsewhere, as well.)

    3. Developed a relationship with and or understanding of the gods and investigated the agrarian calendar that the Wheel-of-the-year is based upon. If the temperate wheel doesn't work where you are (you don't have four seasons, for example, or you're in the Southern Hemisphere) you need to work out what the wheel means where you are.

In general, these things are deal-breakers in Wicca. You can't ever call yourself Wiccan if you think the gods or seasons are unimportant, don't know the ethics and have no idea how it works.

That being said, as some posts here always show, just claiming the word Wiccan means nothing....some claim to be Wiccan and disregard the gods or the ethics. They may be Wiccan, but they probably suck at it.

If you're under 18, and learning behind someone's back, you can't be following #2, by the way.

As for the earlier suggestion of Silver Ravenwolf, I strongly oppose it.
