  1. Start with what is realistic for you. Usually a combination of solar, and wind is cheapest. But if you cannot afford enough to make you independent, get what you can afford.

I am 50 and bike to work and back 11 miles each way. You can too.

Put your house close enough to work to where you do not need a car, or put it along a light rail station. Or get a job close enough to your house. It is currently easier than getting an electric car.

Doing something is more important than getting it all figured out today.

  2. Try death.

  3. go to the electrical box and flip the master switch to cut all power to the house. Then to avoid temptation to turn it back on call the electric company and ask them to take your meter away.

  4. Dig around and see if you can strike oil. Build a refining station. Turn oil to petrol, gases, crack the lubrication oil and bitumen into smaller molecule chains to create more petrol and gases and lighter substances, create a powerstation to burn the fuels to boil the water to produce steam to spin the turbine to power the generator to generate electricity to your house.
